HP Spectre x360 - 15-df0400nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I accidently installed the touchscreen firmware for HP Spectre 15-df0000 x360 but i have HP Spectre x360 - 15-df0400nd.

Now all my touchscreen inputs are mirrored.

I need to reinstall the old firmware again, can i download this somewhere?

Thanks

Both Models are the same. The HP Spectre x30-15-df0400nd is part of the  HP Spectre x30-15-df0000 family

May I know which firmware version did you install?

If you are having issues with the Touchscreen after an update, I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

You can try a System Restore to an earlier time before the issue started

Hello,

I had already reinstalled windows, it's definitely not a problem with any drivers. It is a problem with the software the touchscreen chip has, the firmware.

Since we cannot downgrade the BIOS. I suggest you perform a Reset. You can follow the instructions in this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04742289

If the issue persists try a System Recovery. Please refer to this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04758961

You can also run a Touchscreen diagnostic to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Touchscreen

I didn't mention the bios at all. And my touchscreen hardware is fine. It just has a bad firmware. Can i download the original firmware or not?

Well, that's the point of this post. There is no touchscreen firmware downloadable there.

I suggest you contact HP Support and the Support Engineers should be able to Remote into your Notebook and sort it out or they might take the Notebook for Servicing.

Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true and select your Country to get the Contact details for HP Support
