HP support can't seem to help and I can't get in touch with the "Shopping" line I was given, so please let me know if you can assist with maybe an adapter suggestion or provide a workaround.
I had an amazing HP laptop that I loved but it's gone never to be seen again. So for black Friday I purchased this HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 that I THOUGHT was a good deal, but I really didn't save anything it appears now.
Specs: https://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c08747296
Specifically the ports are what are messing everything up:
1 USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (supports data transfer only and does not support charging or external monitors); 2 USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; 1 AC smart pin; 1 HDMI 1.4b; 1 headphone/microphone combo
I have an HP USB-C Dock G5 - Specs
I was hoping to plug and play as I have a beautiful minimal workspace with an ultrawide monitor, keybord and mouse, and much more down to LED lights.
Since the docking station is USB-C and this laptop can only support USB-C data (no charging or display) is there a work around or anything I can do to still use this laptop and all of my equipment? I have just about every cable imagineable and have tried plugging just the monitor in using HDMI and everything I can think of, but coming up with nothing,
Any advice would be greatly appreciated - or is it time to throw this laptop away or hope I can get it exchanged for something that actually works? Thanks so much in advance as I am at my wits end!!

The HP USB-C G5 is NOT compatible with your machine which has a hopeless USB-C port. You still can use all other device EXCEPT monitor(s) or video. If you wish to 2 external monitors (total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
