Microsoft Windows 11

OK I admit it, I’m just a basic appliance operator but I try to follow the instructions and do things correctly.
Yet It’s so been one of those months
I had that blue screen crash and managed to recover all by myself. . for a while. 31 days later one month to the day. crashed again I attempted to recover and reload my windows 11 got it mostly back but in the process the unit lost the built in product key and without such it would not update any drivers or programs and I could not load a single application!. Sort of like having recovered from gangrene but had to cut off the right arm and part of a leg to do so, Making the unit near useless I couldn’t even install a clean version with a new product code! It was stuck on the the old unless I updated. But couldn’t do an update with that key! Catch 22 I’m sure someone else might have been able to work through it but I could not. I called tech support at both microsoft and HP and both hadn’t a clue other than to say the key might be on the box the laptop came in 4 years ago or call the company I purchased it from and see it they still had record. (right!) And I am pretty sure we actually saved that darn box until about a year ago! such is life.
Anyway . .  this part was just a rant
I was tossing around whether to go HP and windows again or maybe go with a Mac product this go round! . You know a Fords and Chevy’s kind of thing, only I’m a Cummin’s gal myself so was torn between the two. Figured the devil you know. Windows  . . and I had more than a few very nice photo editing apps I’d purchased in from the Microsoft store . . .
I went once more with HP I thought I would get something close to my last only with out a DVD / CD drive as they don’t exist anymore  . . .
It arrived yesterday and I must say maybe it was my own fault. I read spiel that the AMD Ryzen core was a better machine. .  I think I now beg to differ!
My screen looks as though I’m looking through a dirty window. There is no bright and the colors are so far off as to be outright scary! It’s like a Martian green sky and worse with the night setting
I chatted with HP this morning and was told “different computers have a different look to the screens” That was it! ! I’ve had some 4 HP desktops in the past and this is my 3rd in a row laptop and I’m sorry the screen on this one just sucks!
I asked if there was any adjustment and was told I should be able to adjust the brightness. I already found that and it was set to full bright to start.. It's still set to full bright! Nightlight off and there is a HDR mentioned but says is not supported
Am I the only one who found this unit to literally be a pale shadow of their previous units?
Is there no way to tweak the setting to make the display more crisp?
I actually felt around the display to see if maybe there was a layer of shipping protective plastic covering it that needed to be removed!
So not  been my month!
Thanks for listening to a old gal rant . . .
Will be my last HP product!
