HP 250 G7 Notebook PC

System is refusing to detect HDMI devices.
Running final BIOS (F51).
Unable to rollback firmware, and no later version found.

Previously, re-flashing the BIOS with the same version was working, albeit temporarily.

Hi @Kalador_Grime,

If your HP 250 G7 Notebook PC is not detecting HDMI devices, here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:

  1. Check HDMI Cable and Ports: Ensure that your HDMI cable is functional by testing it on another device. Also, make sure the HDMI ports on your notebook and the external device are clean and undamaged.

  2. Reinstall Graphics Drivers:

    • Go to Device Manager on your Windows system.
    • Expand the Display adapters section.
    • Right-click on your graphics driver and select Uninstall device.
    • Restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the appropriate graphics driver.
    • Alternatively, you can visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page to download and install the latest graphics drivers for your model.
  3. Check Display Settings:

    • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
    • Go to Multiple displays and ensure the settings are correctly configured to extend or duplicate your display.
  4. BIOS Re-flashing:

    • Since re-flashing the BIOS with the same version temporarily resolved the issue previously, you might consider performing this step again. However, be aware that this is a temporary fix and could indicate an underlying issue with the firmware.
  5. Operating System Updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is fully updated. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues with hardware devices.

  6. Alternative Solutions:

    • Try connecting a different HDMI device to see if the issue is with the specific device rather than the port or cable.
    • Use another HDMI input if your display device has multiple inputs, or try a different monitor/TV.
