My unit: HP Pavilion x360 - 11m - ap0013dx touch screen laptop

 

After performing a soft reset of my machine and installing latest windows updates, the touch screen is no longer responsive. I have uninstalled the device in manager, rebooted the machine, and it still displays the following message:

 

ELAN EZ TOUCH FILTER - (yellow triangle)

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

A main item was detected outside of a top level collection.

 

I've tried downloading drivers, reinstalling drivers, etc. The unit does not even recognize that there is a touch screen. In the about stats, it states "No pen or touch input is available for this display."

I've reinstalled this driver from the HP site

After reinstalling the driver, this is the message I receive:

Is the bios updated?


Before updating the BIOS, check the installed version.
Simultaneously press the Windows key + R, a window will open and type msinfo32 and click OK, look for the line that indicates BIOS date and check if the version is the most current compared to the one on the https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers page, if you have already checked the version and you do not have the latest version, then download it to update it.

Updating the bios improves performance, resolves specific problems, adds security patches, and the current BIOS may not be compatible with a hardware component or Windows update.
1. Download the file by clicking on the link I provided and save the file in a folder on your hard drive (make a note of the folder where the downloaded file is saved).
2. Double-click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: When updating the bios, do not turn off the computer, do not suspend and in the case of laptops do not put the lid down, and keep your computer plugged directly into a power outlet.
