HP Pavilion - 15-bc222tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi ,

Until recently,I was using my HP Pavilion 15 Laptop with 4 GB GTX 1050 card and Intel hd graphics 630, connected to a smart tv via HDMI. But few days ago when tried to connect to another TV , HDMI didn't recognize the laptop. The laptop was having a power issue issue and had to replace the battery. When checked in Device manager found a code 43 error for the graphics card with a yellow exclamation point .

Tried to fix it with remedies in google like reinstall drivers via device manager. removing drivers with DDU and tried new , old driver from NVIDIA website, and HP driver updates from HP website, manual clean installs of various versions of drivers roll back of drivers and windows, WINDOWS updates ,BIOS updates

did not try a factory reset fearing the licensed software and project data will be wiped.

below are details from speccy http://speccy.piriform.com/results/ANR3unODDN6MfmMFa8tr6mT

I am writing you on behalf of  Sandytechy20 as he is away from work, and he suggested that I write to you concerning.

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

System Restore returns your computer to the files and settings from the restore point. Your personal files and documents are not affected. You can also undo a System Restore if the restore does not resolve the issue or if the issue becomes worse.

hi @Echo_Lake

Many thanks for the assist.

I was eager to try the restore point solution, but there are no restore points farther than 2 days ago . I believe this is because stupid me had tried the system recovery option keeping the files a few days ago which basically reinstalled  windows 10. So i believe there is no point in creating a restore point now ,is there?

If you have another solution to undo the system recovery I did  please let me know!!

Update the Bios, chipset and drivers using HP Support Assistant.

Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.

Hi @Sandytechy20

Many thanks for the reply. Sorry for the late response from my end.

I has already tried all these steps including updating windows, which i had mentioned in the original post. Only one thing is left to do that is resetting the laptop to the OEM condition. But since i have performed a system recovery a week ago, there are no restore points beyond a week ago.

Can you please tell me if i can reset the laptop to the drivers and windows to the ones when i bought it?

yes..i followed the steps in the earlier comment . i used The HP cloud recovery tool to create a recovery usb and used it ti do a factory reset, after an hour of installation, the error i posted earlier appears.

Then I used a bootable USB to reinstall win 10 but i would prefer to have the one that came with the laptop.

Is everything working fine, or would you require any further assistance?

To get the answer to this question, HP made cloud recovery tool image as an only option to have a recovery OS image.
