Does the HP OmniBook 7 16-ay0900ng have some protection against OLED burn-in? Something like Pixel Shift.

Hi @flo_st

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand why you’d want to know whether your HP OmniBook 7 (16-ay0900ng variant) includes built-in OLED burn-in protection, such as pixel shift. Unfortunately, HP’s official specifications don’t list any such feature for the display used in that model. The laptop offers a 16" 2K OLED display with 120 Hz refresh, but there’s no mention of pixel shifting or logo dimming functions in the product documentation.

Recommendations to reduce OLED burn-in risk

Even without built-in protections, you can take proactive steps:

Use dark mode for Windows and apps where possible.

Auto-hide the taskbar to avoid static UI elements.

Enable a screensaver or set the wallpaper to automatically change.

Avoid keeping static icons or toolbars visible constantly.

Lower screen brightness when feasible.

Explore "pixel refresh" options—some devices include such features in BIOS or vendor software.
