Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I've got a OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 which cannot consistently operate on an external display.

It will flicker periodically.  Often, it's not bad; once an hour or so.  Sometimes it's much more frequent.  It does not seem to flicker if the external display is disconnected.

The flickering is not entirely harmless; if I'm playing a game like Civ 3, when the flickering hits, it resets the graphics and causes the game to crash.

This has happened for the entire life of the product.  Switching monitors, cables, BIOS versions, updating drivers, nothing has worked.

I've searched this forum and the only seemingly related issues end with private messages from HP support.

Help would be greatly appreciated.
