HP Laptop 17-by1xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just opened the lid of my laptop and I heard this "Pop" sound coming from the upper left corner where the hinge is. Upon closer inspection it appears the bottom cover and keyboard surface are coming disconnected. To make matters worse I noticed a small crack in the plastic in the upper right corner of the plug for the ethernet cable. Which I haven't even used yet. I've figured, with this crack and the weight of the screen, combined with the torque generated at the hinge when opening is just too much for the clip holding these 2 pieces of plastic together!

This is absolutely crazy!!!! 🤬

My HP DV9000 is still working and in great condition!!

With how much money I've spent buying this laptop this shouldn't of happened!

How on earth am I going to get this fixed before the problem gets worse? Besides not using it? If that's going to be the case than why did I buy it? I promise you this! I'm about to write HP off and never buy anything ever again!!!!!

Still Learning!!!

Thx for replying as quickly as you did! After following the link you provided I was able to find out that I still have about 6 months of my warranty so I'll be hopefully taking it in soon to be repaired. I just wanted to thank you for your help! 👍🏻🤘🏻
