Hi, I recently bought the hp pavilion x360 convertible and quickly noticed that when I open the laptop the screen does not automatically turn on. I was wondering if there is a setting to change this so that the screen will wake when I open the laptop.
Thanks!

The following might work -- it will at least get you to the place where you can adjust / check the settings that control the power options for when the computer is plugged in and when you are running the notebook on battery.
Control Panel > icon view > Power Options
Click Change plan settings
Click Change advanced power settings
Sleep > Sleep After > Select at how many minutes of no activity should the computer enter "sleep" for battery operation and for power / plugged in. Typically, you want the computer to sleep relatively soon after you leave it alone for a few minutes (prevent someone getting into your "stuff").
Sleep > Allow hybrid sleep > Select OFF for both battery and power / plugged in
Sleep > Hibernate after > Select / enter some rediculous high number (1440 minutes battery and 4320 minutes for power / plugged in)
Power buttons and lid > Lid close action > Select Sleep for both battery and power / plugged in
Click Apply to save the changes
Understand that when you set the computer to sleep instead of shut down when you close the lid, that your computer will always be using a "bit more" battery resource to stay alert (ready to wake up).
Remember to keep the computer charged -- if you run the battery "all the way" to dead, it is not coming back no matter how long you charge it afterwards.
