I purchased my Victus laptop about 10 days ago and I have had a very difficult time getting decent display settings. I really like the laptop and would rather not return it, but the inability to get accurate color is a big issue.
I'm currently looking for an after-market program that will allow me better control over the display. Does HP offer or plan to offer a fix for this problem?

Hi @HHenry0331,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The Victus by HP 16.1 Inch Gaming Laptop PC is designed for gamers, and improving display quality can significantly enhance your gaming experience. Here are 16 options to consider for enhancing the display quality on your laptop.
- Resolution: Adjust the screen resolution to the native resolution of the display for the sharpest image quality.
- Refresh Rate: If your laptop supports higher refresh rates (e.g., 120Hz or 144Hz), increase it for smoother gameplay.
- Brightness: Increase or decrease brightness according to your preference and the ambient lighting conditions.
- Contrast: Adjust the contrast to make colors more vibrant and distinguishable.
- Color Calibration: Use Windows' built-in color calibration tool to ensure accurate colors.
- Gamma Correction: Fine-tune gamma settings for better visibility in dark and bright areas of games.
- Anti-Aliasing: Enable anti-aliasing in your game settings to reduce jagged edges and enhance image smoothness.
- Anisotropic Filtering: This can improve the sharpness of textures in games. Adjust it in the game settings.
- NVIDIA/AMD Control Panel: If your laptop has a dedicated GPU, access the control panel to adjust graphics settings, including display quality.
- FreeSync/G-Sync: If your laptop supports these technologies, enable them to reduce screen tearing for a smoother gaming experience.
- HDR: If your laptop has an HDR-compatible display, enable HDR in games that support it for improved contrast and color.
- Resolution Scaling: Lower the in-game resolution and use GPU scaling to upscale it to the native resolution for increased performance and smoothness.
- Blue Light Filter: Enable the blue light filter or night mode to reduce eye strain during extended gaming sessions.
- Overscan/Underscan: Adjust these settings if the image is not filling the screen properly.
- Custom Color Profiles: Create or download custom color profiles that match your preferences or the requirements of specific games.
- External Monitor: Consider using an external monitor with better display quality and larger size for an enhanced gaming experience.
Remember that the available options may vary depending on your laptop's hardware and the specific graphics card it uses. Additionally, adjust these settings based on the games you're playing and your personal preferences for the best display quality.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
