I started having this problem after my computer was set back from HP support for a separate issue. Too often, overlapping windows, screens or drop-down menus from various apps will go transparent or white on the portions of the screen that overlap. This can happen with screens from the same application or from screens of different apps. The overlapped screen might also go "transparent" or flicker randomly, especially if I'm moving the cursor over it. I've had this problem for nearly a year, and I'm still struggling to find a solution. Below are photos of what I'm dealing with. These images were taken within seconds of each other.
Ex: Properly functioning Overlapping window.
Ex. Malfunctioning Transparent Overlapping window
Ex: Functioning drop-down menu
Ex: Malfunctioning Opaque Drop-down menu
I saw a similar post to mine; they were unable to capture their problem in a screenshot. I think I have a similar issue, but it's hard for me to test, because the screens will flicker, which makes it hard to capture the issue in general. A hard reset has not worked to fix the issue, and HP is insisting I need to purchase a premium support plan because this problem is not covered under my extended care pack warranty. Before I purchase a premium support plan, has anyone else managed to find a solution? Otherwise, I'll leave this post up as a paper trail of HP woes.
Thanks All,

Hi Praveenbv,
The drivers have been updated. And, I have installed the latest BIOS updates, However, when hp. com detects the drivers on my computer that need updating, the system says that I still haven't installed the updates that I just installed.
Do you have any advice on why that may be? Otherwise, my BIOS should be updated. Yet, the transparency problem persists.
