Hi @Meyers93,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are having issues with the display driver on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the computer was working fine?
  • What is the exact model of your computer?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Meanwhile, I recommend you download and install the driver from the below link and check if it helps.

The last time my computer was working fine was a few days ago before I attempted to update my drivers. If I had not done that, it would probably still be working fine.

HP Pavilion dv7-6175us Entertainment 17.3" LW172UA#ABA

Again, the only change I have made was downloading new drivers.

Before posting, I read on another thread that to fix, I needed to delete all those drivers, restart, download the correct drivers, restart, install those drivers, and restart, which I did.  The resolution has not change and everytime I try installing drivers it says the system does not meet the minimum requirements.

I just attempted to download and install the 3rd graphics driver on that list, which is for the Intel/AMD HD Switchable Graphics, the one that applies to my system.  After downloading it extracts the files, then when attempting installation said my system does not meet the minimum requirements to install it.

I'm not sure if it matters, but before I tried updating, the switchable graphics was controlled with "Catalyst Control Center" and worked fine, I could configure the two cards to work in different scenarios based on my preferences.  That was usually reached by a right mouse-click on the desktop. Now, in place of that is "AMD Radeon Settings" which when opened just says  AMD graphics driver is installed or it isnot fuctioning properly.
