Product: G7-1269nr
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
Got a Pavillion G7 that wouldn't charge and since have replaced motherboard, same as old one, installed additional ram, did a fresh install of Win 7. Couldn't get graphics to work with HP drivers as well as trying AMD as well. Have re-installed Windows 3 times all ready and, still no luck. My questions are, do the graphics work at all or are they outdated and, am to the point of replacing hard drive to have totally clean install but, don't want to waste any more money on this notebook if the AMD graphics don't work because of age, let me know please? Thanks

No cannot bypass it. You'll render display not working if that is not present.
You can install AMD driver on the top of that.

This notebook did not come with AMD graphics
Only Intel HD graphics on-die with Intel Pentium processor cane with this notebook from factory. So changing motherboard with exactly same one makes no difference in graphic system.

Is this the HP supplied Intel graphics driver you installed?:

See Device Manager, Display Adapters section for any graphics drivers listed.
If still missing drivers, try this driver directly from Intel:

The AMD shows in Device manager so, would it still only need the Intel? Reading so many things, a lot recommend the AMD. Wondering if the drive is corrupted somehow. Do these graphics work today or are they outdated? Thanks.

If AMD is present in device manager, then either the model name you mentioned is not correct or motherboard you purchased is not the same as that came with this notebook.
In models with AMD switchable graphics, you ought to download only HP supplied AMD driver. It installs drivers for both Intel/AMD GPUs

If that doesn't work, no other driver will work.
Still I'm not sure how AMD is shown in this notebook?

I got it from a pawn shop. Maybe someone had already swapped out board. I'm going to try and remove present drivers and re-install the one you supplied. I have tried that one and at restart, it dumps and I have to disable it.
