Microsoft Windows 11

Good day,

I bought a Pavilion Laptop 15-cs3xxx from Costco in 2020, the camera never worked on it. I always figured it was the drivers. I'm trying to settle this once and for all. I've tried deactivating, reactivating the camera. Updating all display drivers.

In the Windows Camera app, it looks like the camera is recognized. No error message. Just black screen.

But I cannot find the HP Wide Vision FHD Camera Driver on HP Support. Could someone help me?

My laptop is a Pavilion 15-cs3025ca.

Many thanks

Hi @jPr7878,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Check Camera Privacy Settings

  1. Open Settings from the Start menu.
  2. Go to Privacy and then Camera.
  3. Ensure that Allow apps to access your camera is turned on.
  4. Scroll down and make sure that the specific applications (like the Camera app) have camera access.

2. Update the Camera Driver via Device Manager

  1. Press Windows + X to open the quick access menu.
  2. Select Device Manager.
  3. Find Camera or Imaging devices and expand the list.
  4. Right-click on your camera (HP Wide Vision FHD Camera) and select Update driver.
  5. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

3. Uninstall and Reinstall the Camera Driver

  1. In Device Manager, right-click on your camera and select Uninstall device.
  2. Restart your laptop. Windows should attempt to reinstall the camera driver.

4. Visit HP Support for Drivers

  1. Visit the HP Support page.
  2. Enter your laptop model number 15-cs3xxx.
  3. Navigate to Software and Drivers.
  4. Download and install the latest camera driver if available.

5. Test with a Different Camera Application

Sometimes, it’s not the camera but the application that is at fault. You can try using other applications like Zoom, Skype, or any other webcam software to check if the camera works.I hope this helps.

Hey, thanks for the quick response, but I've tried all that already. And it doesn't work.

I've tried to locate the drivers for my HP Wide Vision FHD Camera camera on the support site, but it's not there. I've been through the list many times, it's not there.

My laptop is 15-cs3XXX but more specifically 15-cs3023ca, S/N 5CDO26C1TZ.

Can you help me find the driver??

Hey, thanks again for the response. But that's not helpful. When I say that I cannot find the drivers, I mean that I've looked on HP Support site, entering my laptop model, and OS and all that. But the drivers ARE NOWHERE TO BE FOUND in the list. I cannot find them on this website where I should normally be able to find them!

And I tried everything in that toubleshooting guide. Nothing works.

So here's the same question again : can you help me pinpoint exactly where this driver is. And please don't answer me again with a "look at this website" or "try this trouble shoot guide". I did all that. What I need and would love is help in FINDING EXACTLY THIS DRIVER! Where is the file? Maybe it's impossible to find??

Many thanks : )
