Hi @mhel19,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY Notebook is displaying a pink screen, it is likely that there is an issue with the graphics driver. The graphics driver is software that allows your computer's operating system to communicate with the graphics hardware, and a malfunctioning or outdated driver can cause display problems like the pink screen issue you're experiencing.
Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the pink screen problem:
- Restart your computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary glitches, so start by restarting your HP ENVY Notebook.
- Update the graphics driver: Go to the HP support website (https://support.hp.com/) and search for your specific HP ENVY Notebook model. Look for the latest graphics driver available for your operating system (Windows or macOS) and download it. Install the driver and see if it resolves the issue.
- Roll back the graphics driver: If the problem started occurring after a recent graphics driver update, you can try rolling back to the previous version. To do this, go to Device Manager (right-click on "This PC" or "My Computer," select "Manage," and then click "Device Manager"). Under "Display adapters," right-click on your graphics card and select "Properties." In the Properties window, go to the "Driver" tab, and if the option is available, click on "Roll Back Driver."
- Uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver: If updating or rolling back the driver doesn't work, you can try uninstalling the graphics driver completely and then reinstalling it. To uninstall the driver, go to Device Manager, right-click on your graphics card, and select "Uninstall device." After the driver is uninstalled, restart your computer, and then install the latest driver you downloaded from the HP support website.
- Check for overheating issues: Overheating can sometimes cause display problems. Ensure that your laptop's vents are not blocked, and the cooling system is working correctly. You can use compressed air to clean out any dust or debris from the vents.
- Test with an external monitor: Connect your HP ENVY Notebook to an external monitor to see if the pink screen issue persists. If the external monitor displays normally, it further indicates a problem with the built-in display or its connections.
- Hardware issue: If none of the above steps resolve the problem, there might be a hardware issue with the graphics card or the display itself.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
