My pointer will suddenly pull to the bottom left-hand corner. If I try to move it, it begins flickering and occasionally disappearing. When it pulls to the corner, it also clicks whatever happens to be there. This first began a few weeks ago on zoom, but has since occurred multiple times regardless of what I'm doing (Word, Hulu, Powerpoint, etc.). So far, I have only managed to control it but shutting down the computer, but even that does not appear to always work - the glitch will begin shortly after I open the page again. Sometimes, the glitch will appear to be solved for a week or so before returning.

An additional, different issue I've found: Occasionally, I won't be able to see the pointer at all when I first open a browser (I use Google Chrome). This issue is also controlled by restarting or shutting down the computer.

All my drivers are up to date. I've run all troubleshooting 'quick fixes.' I've also done scans of the computer. It seems everything is hunky dory, but obviously it's still glitching. Does anyone have any advice? Please and Thank you.

@BrontesaurusLex Note: Please ensure the complete product name/number for a quicker response from the community, as we need to know what we are dealing with to provide an accurate solution: Click here for steps on finding the information we need! & Also, let us know which OS you've got?

Remember: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Attempt using an alternate/external mouse.

(If that works when the touchpad is disabled on device manager, it would mean that it's a touchpad failure,

However, if the external mouse doesn't work either, it could be a software/driver issue).

Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your mouse:

Go to the Device Manager and select your mouse. Uninstall it and then restart your computer. During restart, your mouse driver will automatically be reinstalled.

  • 1.   Click on Start and type ‘Device Manager’.
  • 2.   Click Device Manager.
  • 3.   Click + sign next to Mouse.
  • 4.   Right-click on mouse entry and choose "uninstall".
  • 5.   Restart your computer.
