HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c3000 IDS Base Model

I recently purchased a portble monitor that has 3 cables for connecting to my HP laptop. USBc to USBc., USBc to USB & HDMI to HDMI. None of these cables work with my HP. The monitor powers on then goes into sleep mode and my laptomp cannot detect a disl=play. BTW, this monitor works fine on my husband's Microsoft Surface Pro. I am now looking at purchasing a wireless portable monitor for 4x the cost but wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue and found a solution before I do so. I need this monitor for travel. I have no problem connecting my 2 Sceptre monitors at home.

The specs of your computer is

           https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_7737425-7737469-16

It ONLY has 1 hopeless USB 3.2 Gen 1.0 Type-C port, SuperSpeed 5 Gbps signaling rate (data transfer only; charging or external monitors not supported) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

Other option (USB-A dock) :   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05357751

Thanks Banhien. As it turns out, my portable monitor came with a separate power source. Once I connected that to a wall outlet, my portable monitor works fine with my HP laptop via HDMI to mini-HDMI and USB-c to USB-c
