Just renewed Microsoft Office, Personal. I connect my Notebook with an HDMI cable and cast my Power Point presentation to the TV screen, but am having to use my laptop keyboard to control the slides. How can I roam a room and control the slides?

Hi @Starre22,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
When using an HDMI cable to cast your PowerPoint presentation to a TV screen, controlling the slides using your laptop keyboard can be limiting. Here are a few options to roam the room and control your slides wirelessly:
1. Wireless Presenter
Investing in a wireless presenter (also known as a clicker) can provide you the freedom to move around while controlling your presentation. These devices typically connect to your laptop via USB and offer slide control buttons.
Popular Wireless Presenters:
- Logitech Wireless Presenter: Known for its reliability and ease of use. It typically includes buttons for navigating slides, a laser pointer, and other control features.
- Plug the USB receiver into your laptop.
- Turn on the wireless presenter.
- Use the buttons on the presenter to control your PowerPoint slides (advance, go back, blank screen, etc.).
2. PowerPoint Mobile App
You can use your smartphone as a remote control for your PowerPoint presentation. The Microsoft Office app allows you to control PowerPoint presentations on your PC directly from your phone when both devices are connected to the same network.
- Ensure your laptop and smartphone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Download the Microsoft Office app on your smartphone (available for both iOS and Android).
- Open the application on your phone and sign in with your Microsoft account.
- Open your PowerPoint presentation on your laptop.
- In the Office app, navigate to your presentation and select it.
- Use the controls within the app to advance slides, go back, and view speaker notes.
3. Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse
Using a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse can also add mobility while presenting your slides.
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your laptop.
- Pair the Bluetooth keyboard or mouse with your laptop.
- Use the keyboard or mouse to control your slides as you move around the room.
I hope this helps.
