ProBook 450 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been trying everything but it seems there is no way to get 1920x1080 on my new G6? My G5 had this option so I am dumbfounded the newer laptop does not have the resolution. When I plug in my external monitor it show the option for both LCDs but when I unplug the option disappears for my internal LCD. Can anyone help me get 1920x1080 on my internal LCD?

Hello

display in 6QJ33UT#ABA is 1366x768.

When you connect an external monitor , it's windows 10 that try to intorpolate 1920x1080 to a 1366x768 monitor, but the real LCD native resolution is 1366x768.

I can ask Amazon to take back the notebook is they wrote it's 1920x1080 LCD.

What you get depends on what you purchased.

The 1920 x 1080 display option is apparently available - like many Probooks, different options are supported.

The odd thing is the specs for my model show 1920x1080. The laptop also will go into that resolution when an external monitor is attached, but reverts to a lower resolution when stand alone.

All I have is your model series name - there are nearly 370 models in the group.

Which Windows 10 build / version are you running?

Are your software and drivers current?

=============================

General observations based on series:

A quick check shows a number of Software and Driver Updates available within the recent months, including an important BIOS firmware pack released in May 2020.

In general, it is recommended that both Windows Updates and your HP software and drivers be kept updated.

Windows "2004" is not yet supported by some platforms - if the OS has been migrated to this version of Windows (build 19041.208), it is possible one or more drivers are not yet supported.  Lack of driver support can hamper operation.

How to check Driver information for Windows version support

Open Software and Drivers

Expand the Driver list or Open a Category

Select a driver

Click "See full Details"

Open section "Associated files"

Click the Download

A small menu / window opens to display the available information for that driver.

Scroll down to find information on "OPERATING SYSTEM(S)

Thanks for your help.

The model I bought is on amazon as "2019 Newest HP Probook 450 G6 Full HD 1920x1080  Flagship Premium Business Laptop" Specs show " HP ProBook 450 G6 (6QJ33UT#ABA)"

Unfortunately the Resolution in the System Info is 1366x768. My issue is when I plug in a 24" LCD the laptop LCD changes and shows 1920x1080, so why is it cabable of showing 1920x1080 on the internal display when an external monitor is attached but not when the external is absent?
