Hello,

I'e been asked to order a 32" 4K CAD monitor that would be attached to HP ProBook 650 G1 (model F1P86EA#AKD). The laptop is running with an i5-4210M / Intel HD Graphics 4600.

Before buying it I started having doubts whether the integrated graphics processor would be able to handle additional 4K display.

Has anyone else tried it?

Hi,

4K UHD is a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels.

Max resolution supported by i5-4210M is 3840x2160 @60Hz via DisplayPort available.

So answer is yes.

Thank you for the reply.

I read the spec sheet for the HD Graphics 4600, but what wasn't clear to me was if it would be able to run 3840 × 2160 display in addition to the laptops FHD display

You're welcome.

It supports according to Intel specs sheet: http://ark.intel.com/products/81012/Intel-Core-i5-4210M-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_20-GHz

Did you ever get this to work? I am trying to get a 650 G2 with intel 520 HD to work but the software restricts to HD resolution

Hey,

I ended up buying a Full HD monitor to avoid any problems and was pressured by time, works just fine.
