Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb2000 (90Q68AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I’ve run into a strange issue with my HP Victus 15 when switching between an external monitor and the built-in laptop screen.

So, I usually connect my laptop to an external display (HDMI), and everything runs perfectly when projecting only to the external screen. But the moment I switch the projection back to “PC screen only” (the laptop’s display), the performance drops dramatically. The UI starts running at like 2 FPS, everything is super slow and laggy, and it becomes nearly unusable.

The weird part? I can temporarily fix it by either:

1. Switching back to the external monitor first, then trying again.

2. Or pressing Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset the graphics driver — after that, the laptop screen goes back to normal.

I’ve tested this a few times now, and it’s consistently buggy when switching away from the external monitor. Not sure if it’s a driver issue or something with the screen refresh/resolution sync.

Anyone else seen this? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!
