In May, due to problems with the screen matrix, the HP15s laptop was returned under warranty. A month after the laptop was repaired, the following problem was noticed - the laptop doesn't connect via HDMI to some devices (3 devices and 3 cables, all works, only 1 of 9 cable-device combinations works with the laptop), with which it was possible before the repair. BIOS and graphics card drivers were updated, the device was restored to factory settings - without any success. The device returned again to the warranty service - the result of the report is:
"No hardware defects were found in the reported device and the customer-reported defects could not be induced in the test environment. The device was restored to factory settings." The problem persists.

Hi @kkk09,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot the HDMI connection problems you're facing with your HP 15.6 Inch Laptop PC. HDMI issues can be caused by various factors, so let's go through some steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the problem.
- Check the HDMI Cable: Ensure that the HDMI cable you're using is in good condition and properly plugged into both your laptop and the external display (e.g., monitor, TV). Try using a different HDMI cable if possible.
- Select the Correct Input Source: On your external display, make sure you have selected the correct input source. If you're using a TV, use your TV remote to change the input source to the HDMI port you're connected to.
- Function Key (Fn) + Display Toggle Key: Some laptops require you to use a function key (usually labeled as "Fn") in combination with a display toggle key (often one of the F keys) to switch between display modes. Press the appropriate function key to toggle between laptop display, external display, and extended display modes.
- Display Settings: Right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings" (or "Graphics Properties"). Check if the external display is recognized here. You might need to adjust the display mode or extend the display.
- Driver Issues: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause HDMI connection problems. Go to the official HP support website and download the latest graphics drivers for your laptop model. Install them and restart your laptop.
- Windows Display Settings: Open the Windows settings and go to "System" > "Display". Make sure that the external display is detected and configured correctly. You can try to detect the display manually if it's not being recognized.
- Check Display Output: Sometimes, the laptop might not be sending a signal to the HDMI port. Press the appropriate function key to switch between display modes. It's usually a key with a monitor symbol or "CRT/LCD" label.
- Restart Laptop and Display: Try restarting both your laptop and the external display. Sometimes, this simple step can resolve connectivity issues.
- Check for Physical Damage: Ensure that the HDMI ports on both your laptop and the external display are not physically damaged.
- Operating System Updates: Make sure your operating system is up to date with the latest updates and patches. Sometimes, compatibility issues can be resolved through updates.
- BIOS/UEFI Settings: In some cases, BIOS/UEFI settings might affect HDMI output. Enter your laptop's BIOS/UEFI settings and ensure that any relevant settings (like display output mode) are correctly configured.
- Try a Different Display: If possible, connect your laptop to a different external display to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the laptop or the display.
- Hardware Issue: If none of the above steps work, there might be a hardware issue with either the laptop's HDMI port or the external display's HDMI port.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi, thanks for your reply!
I've written that cables and external displays are working well. It's possible to achieve connection between these displays and another laptop using these HDMI cables. There are 3 cables and 3 external displays available, but only one external display with one cable are working fine with my laptop (1 out of 9 combinations). I've noticed that there is something interesting in event log, after installing graphic card driver. The description of the log is shown below.
Device PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_164C&SUBSYS_887A103C&REV_C2\4&2feae042&0&0041 had a problem starting.
