Greetings, I'm having trouble using a second monitor via HDMI. I'm using an HP Victus computer, and whenever I connect an HDMI cable to use a second monitor, it's identified by brand and model, but the second screen doesn't display an image. Can you help me?image.pngimage.pngimage.png

Hi @alcides_andrade,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your second monitor is identified but not displaying an image, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check the HDMI Cable: Ensure that the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the HP Victus computer and the second monitor. Try using a different HDMI cable if possible.

Monitor Settings: On your second monitor, ensure that the correct HDMI input is selected. Use the monitor’s on-screen display (OSD) menu to check the input settings.

Display Settings on HP Victus:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
  • Scroll down to "Multiple displays" and ensure that "Extend these displays" is selected.
  • Ensure the resolution for the second monitor is set correctly.

Update Drivers: Make sure that your graphics drivers are up-to-date. You can update them from the Device Manager or by visiting the Official HP® Support.

Power Cycle Your Devices: Turn off both the computer and the monitor. Unplug them from the power outlet for a few minutes, then plug them back in and turn them on.

Test with Another Device: Test the monitor with another device (e.g., another laptop or desktop) using HDMI to determine if the issue is with the monitor or the computer.

Switch HDMI Ports: If your HP Victus has multiple HDMI ports, try plugging the cable into a different port.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
