I got into a fight and the optical drive was harshly yanked out. This must've damaged the ribbon cable inside because the lcd screen is internally cracked and blacked out 99% of the area. The 1%, I can see light coming from the display when I turn on the laptop. The fan and lights are all running normally. This incident happened a couple years ago and have put aside the laptop ever since. I finally found it today, and would like an attempt to fix it. Which part(s) do I need to replace?

Nevermind. The CD/DVD drive is separate. I just replaced the lcd screen and works just fine.
