HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 (2D119AV)

The top left corner of my laptop screen has gone purple with yellow surrounding it. I`ve had a similar problem on the same device where a yellowish hue was near the bottom of my screen. That problem does not occur on my device anymore; it seems like all the colour just went to the top left corner of my screen. What causes this problem and is there anyway to resolve this?

Hi @aguyman,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this screen issue with your laptop. It sounds like you're dealing with a color distortion or screen display issue that could have a few different causes.

  • Did the problem start suddenly, or did it develop gradually over time?
  • Have you tried connecting your laptop to an external monitor to see if the issue persists there?
  • Does adjusting the screen brightness or contrast settings affect the purple and yellow areas?

Let's try these steps.

  • Restart your laptop: Sometimes, simple restarts can resolve display issues caused by temporary glitches in the graphics settings.
  • Check the display cables: If you're using an external monitor or if the laptop screen has a loose connection, this could cause color distortions. Ensure that the screen cable is secure.
  • Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display problems. Check for the latest updates in the Device Manager or from the manufacturer's website.
  • Perform a Display Test: Run the built-in diagnostic tools or use third-party software to test the screen. This can help identify if there's a hardware issue with the screen itself.
  • Reset the Display Settings: If the issue started after adjusting settings, you may want to reset them back to default. Go to Settings > System > Display, and reset or adjust the display settings.

If these steps don't fix the issue, the problem may be hardware-related, such as a faulty screen or GPU.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
