I am thinking about buying this laptop:
HP 15-da0031nr 15.6" Laptop Computer
The specs say that battery life is 10 hours. However, all reviews have said that it lasted 3-4 hours even with basic browsing and Excel use. How can there be such a discrepancy? I'm really concerned about such a difference, even if this laptop isn't the top of the line model. Please let me know what you think.
Also, does anyone know what the price is on the retail site, as well as the employee purchasing program site?

Prices we are not going to be able to tell you about. However, you need to take ALL laptop battery life claims with a healthy dose of skepticism. This laptop has a 3-cell 41 wh battery. That means it can provide 1 watt for 41 hours or 10 watts for 4.1 hours.
The AC adapter is 45 watts. Even given that you lose some of that wattage in converting to DC power inside the brick the laptop needs much more like 10 watts to provide normal service than 4.1 watts. So it's going to run for more like 4 hours than 10 hours on the battery.
