Hello.
I was watching YouTube on my HP Laptop and all of a sudden the screen turned purple. I hadn't moved or touched it and it just..went purple. I have searched for help and tried to fix this but no luck. When it happened, I was in shock. I have had it for about 6 weeks. I immediately turned it off and started panicking (I panic over the smallest things and even thought it would explode). Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Hello, @katieboo2323 – Hope you are well 🙂
Welcome to the HP Forum! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!
I see that you are having display issues with the HP notebook. No need to panic, I am sure we will be able to find a solution for your problem 🙂 Also, the display will for sure never explode 😉
To assist you better with this issue, I need to know the following details:
- What is the model number of your HP notebook? (Check http://hp.care/2c1fa4i if unsure)
- The operating system on your PC.
- Did you try using the notebook after the initial issue? Is the issue specific to the YouTube videos?
Alternatively, I would like you to perform a power drain on your notebook. Most of the display issues are caused due to trouble with the power supply. A hard reset / power drain will fix most of those issues.
Go to http://hp.care/2byfHyh and follow the steps under “Reset a laptop with a removable battery” if your notebook has a removable battery. Follow the steps under “Reset a laptop with a sealed or non-removable battery” if the battery cannot be removed.
Turn on the notebook once done and then try using the notebook and check.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.
Good luck 🙂
