Hi @Pantheris2019,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Random green dots appearing on the screen of your HP Pavilion Gaming 15 laptop can be indicative of a hardware or software issue. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and potentially fix the problem.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues. Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers installed. You can download them from the HP website or use Windows Update to check for updates.

Check for Loose Connections:

  • Sometimes, loose connections between the graphics card, monitor, or cables can lead to display problems. Ensure that all connections are secure.

Check for Overheating:

  • Overheating can cause graphical glitches. Ensure that your laptop's cooling system is functioning properly and that the laptop is not overheating. Use compressed air to clean out any dust from the vents and fans.

Run Hardware Diagnostics:

  • HP laptops often come with built-in hardware diagnostic tools. You can access these by pressing the appropriate key during startup (usually F2 or Esc). Run diagnostics to check for any hardware issues.

Check for Malware or Software Issues:

  • Malware or corrupted software can also lead to display problems. Run a full system scan using your antivirus software and perform a malware check.

Test with an External Monitor:

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor. If the green dots appear on the external monitor as well, it's likely a graphics card issue. If they only appear on your laptop screen, it may be a laptop screen problem.

Graphics Card Troubleshooting:

  • If you suspect a graphics card issue, you can try updating or rolling back your graphics card driver. You can do this from the Device Manager in Windows.
  • If your laptop has a dedicated graphics card, you can also try reseating it if you're comfortable doing so. However, this should be done carefully.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
