Hi,

Even though I do not have an HP laptop mine is affected too with the same problem for days now. It seems that the issue is caused by a faulty driver. I checked and new Intel UHD graphics drivers have launched a few days ago.  There is no proper solution to the problem yet - I browsed through every possible support forums to find one without success. Even rolling the driver back did not help in my case - it made my laptop freeze. However, if you start Windows 10 in safe mode (in my case it could be achieved only by turning the machine off and on a few times because for some reason Windows 10 did not react to the standard Shift+Restart button on the login screen) and in the device manager, you disable Intel UHD graphics you can log into your system.

I hope there will be a solution to this very soon.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details and I would appreciate if you could, perhaps elaborate on your concern.

  • What is the exact model for your computer?
  • What is the operating system you are using?
  • What is the exact issue you are facing?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Look forward to hearing from you and you have a great day!

Take care.

Cheers!

Hi!

Thanks for your answer! As I have mentioned my laptop is not an HP. It is an ASUS P4540UQ with Windows 10 x64.  The issue that makes my computer unusable however is the same that is mentioned in the topic. Originally I visited HP support forum to get an answer why my HP headset is not working. But when I spotted this topic I immediately answered so I could maybe help with my suggestion. Unfortunately now I know that it is an extremely serious issue with the new Intel UHD drivers. And even "downgrading" to a working, older driver package is completely impossible. It must have caused registry issues in Windows too.

Again, thank you for replying!

Unfortunately, I will not be able to assist you as you have a non HP product. However, I do appreciate your contribution in getting this issue addressed.

Cheers!
