I tried the suggested fix, start menu, computer, right click dvd/cd. There is no listing for computer in my start menu. Also the cd/dvd door won't open when pressed, but pops open  for no reason and will not stay closed most of the time.

Note: I have not tested them on HP machines because my HP machines don't have Optical Drives.
