@PMJHello, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen (24AA) should be compatible with your HP ENVY x360 13-bf0000 series laptop. If the pen isn't activating, follow these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify Compatibility Make sure your laptop supports Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP) 2.0. The HP Envy x360 series typically does, but you can confirm this in the Windows Pen & Touch settings:
    • Navigate to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink and check if pen input is available.
  2. Charge the Pen The HP MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen requires charging via USB-C. Connect it to a charger for at least 30 minutes before trying to use it.
  3. Activate the Pen To activate pairing mode, press the eraser button (the top button) for 5-7 seconds. If the LED indicator doesn't light up, the battery may be dead or malfunctioning.
  4. Enable Touch & Pen Input Open Device Manager (press Win + X and select Device Manager).
    • Expand Human Interface Devices.
    • Find HID-compliant touch screen and HID-compliant pen. If they are disabled, right-click and choose Enable.
  5. Update Drivers Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update to check for updates.
    • For manual updates, visit the HP support website to download the latest drivers for your model, including the Intel Integrated Sensor Solution driver.
  6. Pair the Pen via Bluetooth If the eraser button works but the pen tip does not:
    • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
    • Click Add a device and select Bluetooth.
    • Press and hold the eraser button for 7 seconds until the LED blinks, then select HP Tilt Pen to pair it.
  7. Test with Another Device If possible, try using the pen with another HP laptop that supports MPP 2.0. If it works there, your Envy x360 may have a driver issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
