HP Envy x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-fh0000 RCTO Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

So back in Jan 2024 I sent my HP Envy x360 in to HP for a warranty repair (case got closed 1/23/24). Ever since I got it back I've had two separate problems that never happened before, and I'm pretty sure they're connected to whatever they did when they had it apart.

First one - if I fully shut the thing down (not sleep, actual shutdown), it loses battery insanely fast. Like I shut it down at 100% around 3am and by 1:30pm the next day it was already down to 74%. That's something like 2.5% an hour just sitting there off. I went down the whole troubleshooting rabbit hole - checked powercfg /a (only has Modern Standby, no S3, which is apparently normal for this model), no wake timers active, only keyboard/touchpad/mouse set to wake it, battery health checks out fine at like 94% of design capacity, ran the energy report and nothing points to it either. So it's not a settings thing, feels more like an EC issue where something's not actually cutting power when it shuts down.

Second thing - Windows Hello face unlock hasn't worked since I got it back either. Device manager shows the IR camera and the facial recognition device both there, both say drivers are up to date, but I literally can't even pull up the IR camera in the Windows Camera app, nothing shows. Also found my TPM was showing "not ready for use," cleared it through BIOS (shows ready now) but that didn't fix the camera. When I try to set up face unlock the preview just flickers back and forth between my face and a "camera disconnected" icon. And here's the weird part - if I move the lid while that's happening, sometimes the whole screen goes black for like 20 seconds. Pretty sure that means a cable got knocked loose or pinched near the hinge when they put it back together, since the camera and screen would share a cable running through there.

Both of these started right when I got it back from repair and neither happened before I sent it in. Trying to figure out if it's worth calling them again about the same case number or if I'm better off just taking it to an independent shop at this point.
