Hi @Tez134,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Let’s explore the situation with your HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg3000 and see how we can improve your battery life so it aligns better with your needs as a student.

I Feel the Disappointment:

1. Imagine settling in for a study session, your laptop fully charged, the day ahead of you full of promise. But as the hours tick by, the battery icon drains faster than you expect, leaving you feeling frustrated and let down, like a car running out of fuel in the middle of a journey.

2. I understand the challenge. The reality of only 3 hours of battery life hits hard, especially when you’re in the middle of a lecture, or deep into an assignment. It feels like time is slipping through your fingers, forcing you to constantly search for a power outlet.

3. Optimizing Power Settings:

  • Let’s tweak your power settings to stretch those precious minutes into hours. Navigate to Settings > System > Power & sleep. Here, select Additional power settings and choose Power saver. Imagine this as dimming the lights in a room to make the candles last longer, giving you more time with your laptop before it needs to recharge.

4. Manage Your Background Apps:

  • Next, we’ll lighten the load on your battery by managing the apps running in the background. Go to Settings > Apps > Startup. Disable any unnecessary apps from launching at startup. It’s like carrying a lighter backpack, reducing the strain on your battery and allowing it to last longer.

5. Adjust Display and Performance:

  • Reduce the screen brightness by pressing F3 or using the brightness slider in the Action Center. You can also adjust the Display settings by going to Settings > System > Display and selecting a lower resolution. Lower the graphics settings in any demanding applications or games you use. Imagine turning down the intensity of a light bulb—still illuminating, but not burning through energy as quickly.

Please find the next steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Tez134,

Please find the next steps below.

6. Battery Saver Mode:

  • Enable Battery Saver by clicking on the battery icon in the taskbar and selecting Battery Saver mode. This will automatically reduce background activity and lower the brightness when your battery reaches a certain level. It’s like switching your laptop to a lower gear, conserving energy for the long haul.

7. Review and Remove Unnecessary Hardware:

  • Disconnect any peripherals or USB devices when not in use. Each of these is like an extra passenger in a car, adding to the overall weight and using more fuel—your battery power.

8. Feel the Improvement:

  • With these adjustments, your laptop should begin to provide longer battery life. Imagine the relief of having those extra hours, the peace of mind of knowing that you can complete your tasks without constantly searching for an outlet.

By following these steps, you should notice an improvement in your HP Pavilion Laptop PC’s battery life, making your study sessions more manageable and less stressful. Now, you can focus on what really matters—your studies—without the constant worry of running out of power.

If the battery life still isn’t meeting your needs, you might consider contacting phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
