As I put my laptop , there was a small crack in the corner of the Laptop’s screen and  the display seems to be black even after the power button is on .

@Kavya2801, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check for Visible Damage: Since there's a crack, examine the extent of the damage closely. It could impact the internal display components, leading to the screen being black.

Screen Replacement: If there is a visible crack and the display is black, it's likely that the screen assembly might need replacement.

External Display Test: Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI cable. This can help determine if the issue is solely with the internal screen.

Backup Important Data: If possible, back up any critical data to avoid potential data loss.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
