i bought a replacement screen for my pavilion 17f037cl (2014), installed it just fine, but when i turned my laptop on i couldnt see anything. so i got a flashlight and shined it at the screen and it was working... just without the backlight. is there some kind of inverter i can get to power the backlight? ive been all over google and cant find a solution.
Here is the screen i bought
I bought it off amazon though, but from east coast lcds.

Sorry but Inverters are for LCD's that us a CCFL for the backlight.
Leds use DC voltage and CCFL's use AC voltage.
When you replaced the LCD did you remove the battery and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds???
If I remember correctly the 5th land of the cable is power for the LED's.
If power button was not pressed before connecting the cable, you could have shorted power going to the LED's.
We have trashed around 10-12 test beds by not clearing all power from the system board.
So if the LCD is good then the power source on the system board is bad.

Sorry but it is very difficult for you.
We would have known good ones to test the test beds, when we would get 3 no displays in a row.
We have trashed i5's and some i7's but we have hundreds to choose from as spares.
