Hi,
For nearly a decade now, I've had an HP Pavilion dv6-6165tx and it has been working fine till a couple of years ago. The graphics card started giving problems first. The screen would go blank when I would install the driver for the graphics card. Till now, I had put it off simply by disabling it in the device manager when I could boot into Windows and worked with it. However, I can no longer boot into Windows and I blame the graphics card. The laptop had been sent for repair and all the hardware tested fine but I think the graphics card is at blame. I have had opened the laptop at home to clean the cooling fan multiple times as it collects dirt very quickly. The graphics card is indeed removable and can someone please point me in the right direction as to where I can get a graphics cards for the laptop. It doesn't matter if it's an AMD or Nvidia graphics card. Please I need this on an urgent basis.
Thanks and regards
Divyanshu

Hi, thank you for replying. Thank you for the guide with the spare parts number. I looked up every AMD related thing I could find in it but the motherboards there do not have the AMD graphics card on them. Can't I get only the graphics card without getting anything extra like the fan or the motherboard itself?
Thanks and regards

I don't know if I understood your question, but you cannot simply replace the graphics card.
take a look at the Component replacement procedures section, there is no mention of the graphics card
for example
System board
For use only with computer models equipped with an AMD processor:
Equipped with the A70M chipset, HD6750 graphics subsystem chipset, and 1024-MB of graphicssubsystem discrete memory 650854-001
Equipped with the RS880MD chipset, the HD6650 graphics subsystem chipset, and 1024-MB ofgraphics subsystem discrete memory 659127-001

Hi, thank you for replying.
Yes, I want to replace the graphics card and I have seen some posts where people who wanted to upgrade their laptops to the latest GPU and were able to. I was hoping I could do the same because mine basically is toast.
I did go through the guide and found no HP spare parts for the graphics card. I know this PC is no longer supported by HP so I was hoping that someone could point me to where I can get an original or second hand working AMD card.
