I have a brand new HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop 14-eu0001na (9D0J3EA), just set up out of the box. When in tent mode or tablet mode, there is no screen rotation and no on-screen keyboard. It shipped with Windows 11 and there are no driver updates or Windows updates available. There is no 'tablet mode' option in the action bar, and the 'rotation lock' option is set and greyed out in both the action bar and in display settings. Putting the device into tent or slate position doesn't change the ability to access these settings. The hklm\software\windows\autorotation reg keys appear to be set as they should be:
Enable: 1
LastOrientation: 0
SensorPreset:1
SlateEnable:1
It basically seems like Windows 11 doesn't realise that this device is a 2-in-1, and there's no way to make it do so. All the HP diagnostic tools show no issue with any of the sensors or other components, and there's no updates available for anything.
Any suggestions other than to just return it at this point?
Thanks!

In the hope that it might assist others with a similar problem (I've seen many similar problems posted, but never this suggested solution) I fixed this after half an hour on the phone with a wonderful HP support person (although the IVR I had to go through to get there was atrocious). What I did was this:
1) Power off the device and unplug all cables
2) Hold down the power button for 30 seconds (note there is no visible effect to this)
3) Release the power, then click it again to power up normally.
Voila - all working perfectly. Apparently it's possible for something in the power flow to interrupt the input received from the sensors. I have no idea how that would work, but it fixed the problem
