I have updated my hp envy m4 from 8 to 8.1 and whenever I plug ma charger in, the screen goes blank and appears in 2-3 seconds and again when I plug out the screen goes blank for 2-3 seconds and returns back. Nothing files changed or altered everything remains same.

Thanks for the post, I understand that when you connect or disconnect the power cord, the screen goes blank for couple seconds and comes back. I would like to help.
Recommend you to update Windows, run HP Support Assistant and check of update and install them.
Recommend you to visit www.hp.com/drivers enter the product number of your computer and update the BIOS and check. (make sure to have power cord connected during the BIOS update and do not have any other devices connected during this update.)
I would like to know if this issue happens in BIOS screen as well. On startup keep tapping F10 to enter BIOS.
Once you enter the BIOS, plug in or disconnect the adapter and let me know if the screen goes blank for couple seconds or not.
This would let us know if this is related to Windows or the BIOS itself.
Also, refer to this article for other blank screen issues.
