Hello HP Community,

I am reaching out to see if anyone has found a definitive fix for a persistent display flickering issue on my HP EliteBook 840 G8.

The flickering occurs intermittently, and I have already attempted the following standard software fixes without success:

  • Driver Uninstallation: I have uninstalled the graphics drivers via Device Manager and allowed Windows/HP Support Assistant to reinstall them.

  • Refresh Rate Adjustments: I’ve toggled between different available refresh rates in the Advanced Display settings.

  • Graphics Settings: I have experimented with various power-saving and performance settings within the graphics control panel.

Despite these steps, the flickering remains. Since this is a premium business laptop, I want to ensure I’m not overlooking a specific firmware update or a known hardware conflict.

Device Details:

  • Model: HP EliteBook 840 G8

  • OS:  Windows 11 Pro

  • Current BIOS Version:  BIOS version is 01.23.00 (released Nov 6, 2025)

Has anyone experienced this specific issue with the G8 series? I am wondering if this might be related to the LCD cable connection, a BIOS bug, or if there is a specific Intel Graphics Command Center setting that needs to be disabled (like Panel Self-Refresh).

Any advice or technical insights would be greatly appreciated!

It won't directly damage the display panel itself if left unresolved but increases chances of total blackout during use as cable can get worst.

Then it's likely display cable issue. Visit nearest ho service center for diagnosis and reparing it. Replacing display cable is not that expensive. Visit there. Ask them cause first and if it dp cable then opt for repair. Ask for good price first as well if not under warrenty

If it is not fixed or delayed, is there a chance of the display getting damaged?
