Screen Too Bright and Washed Out

I received the Pavillion X360 Convertable  15T-DW400 yesterday.  I thought the display was too bright so I tried adjusting it in settings.  That didn't work out so I turned on the night mode and tried adjusting it there.  But the display, especially the areas in white were still too bright and hard to read (aka washed out).  So much so that my eyes hurt after using it.

Your machine should have some keys as shown

    

You can use two keys as indicated above to adjust brightness of its screen. You can also use the following Guides to change

I'm sorry for the late reply.  But decreasing the brightness does not help when websites have a bright colored background (such as this one) and/or images (snow, etc).  They are all overexposed.
