I'd like to upgrade to a new better screen. I can't figure out what screen I currently have, don't know if it's 30 or 40 pin, and don't know which screen (prefferably touch) is compatible with my model. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

@OctoMystic Welcome to HP Forums Community!
If you wish to change the screen/display on your notebook, I must let you know that HP only recommends using the factory shipped parts, which means you cannot get a touchscreen for a product that was sent without one, with that said, please refer to Page. 61 or 69 (based on what you originally got - touch or non-touch) and use the part numbers to order via the HP Parts store or use the same to order via any local online store such as Amazon, eBay etc...as the part numbers are universal.
Click here to access the service and maintenance guide to visit the aforementioned pages.
(As an upgrade/custom enthusiast I personally love the idea of upgrading the device as well, However, HP recommends that you go easy on it as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed above are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion)
Let me know how that pans out,

Thank you I searched for parts using my serial number and product key and it gave me a few options one of which is a 720 touch screen, so I assume it will work with my model. Maybe let me know what you think about that. There's a good chance I'll go ahead with it unless I find out that the information is incorrect.

@OctoMystic As mentioned earlier, the service and maintenance guide contains the part and the part numbers of the upgradeable parts, although, HP recommends you only use the part shipped with the PC and avoid upgrading as it may or may not work, if it doesn't work, it may end up rendering the device unstable, hence you may upgrade at your own discretion.
I hope that answers your query,
