Hi @Likithroshan,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your system is experiencing sudden blackouts, shutting down, and restarting unexpectedly, this can be caused by a range of issues, including hardware failures, software problems, or system overheating. Here's a comprehensive guide to diagnose and fix the issue:
1. Check for Overheating
Monitor Temperature:
- Use software tools like HWMonitor, Core Temp, or SpeedFan to check your system’s temperatures. Overheating can cause the system to shut down to prevent damage.
Clean Vents and Fans:
- Ensure your computer’s vents and fans are clean and unobstructed. Dust buildup can cause overheating.
Improve Airflow:
- Make sure your computer is in a well-ventilated area. Consider adding or adjusting fans to improve airflow.
2. Inspect Power Supply
Check Power Cables:
- Ensure all power cables are securely connected to your computer and power outlet.
Test with a Different Power Outlet:
- Plug your computer into a different power outlet to rule out issues with the current outlet.
Test Power Supply Unit (PSU):
- If you’re comfortable working inside your computer, check the power supply unit (PSU) for signs of failure. Consider replacing it if you suspect it's faulty.
3. Run Hardware Diagnostics
Run Built-in Diagnostics:
- Many systems have built-in diagnostic tools. For example, Dell computers have built-in diagnostics accessible during startup.
Use Third-Party Tools:
- Use third-party diagnostic tools like MemTest86 for memory testing or CrystalDiskInfo for hard drive health.
4. Check for Software Issues
Update Drivers:
- Ensure all drivers, especially for graphics cards and chipset, are up to date. Visit the manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers.
Check for Software Conflicts:
- Review recently installed software or updates that might be causing conflicts. Try uninstalling recent software to see if the issue resolves.
Scan for Malware:
- Use a reputable antivirus or anti-malware tool to scan your system for malicious software that could cause instability.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
