If you are encountering a black screen on your HP laptop, and it does not display the HP logo during startup, here are several troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
A hard reset can resolve many issues, including a blank screen. Here are the steps:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Disconnect all external devices (printers, USB drives, etc.).
- Remove the battery (if it is removable).
- Disconnect the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter.
- Turn on the laptop.
2. Resetting the BIOS
Resetting the BIOS can sometimes resolve startup issues. Here’s how:
- Restart the laptop and repeatedly press the F10 key during startup to enter the BIOS setup.
- Press F9 to load the default BIOS settings.
- Press F10 to save the settings and exit the BIOS.
3. Updating Drivers and BIOS
Ensure that your drivers and BIOS are up to date. You can use HP Support Assistant to update your drivers and BIOS. Here are the steps:
- Open HP Support Assistant from the Start Menu or search for it if it’s installed.
- Check for updates under the 'Updates' section.
- Install any available updates.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
