Hi,

The keyboard keys fn+f5 and fn+f6 do not work for changing the brightness under windows 10. Other fn keys, like for changing the volume - work.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hello Copperis,

Try updating BIOS, chipset and hotkeys support from HP website.

Ensure Windows is up to date.

Go to BIOS,

Choose Restore defaults

Hi. I tried this solution but it's still not working for me. I updated the BIOS and I installed the latest Hotkeys driver.

As OmarZD wrote, that solution doesn't work for me either.

I dont know if it helps anyone, but I bought a second hand zbook studio, and out of the box the brightness screen fn was not working. I called HP support, and they pointed me to SoftPaq Download Manager. I downloaded it and I let it installed everything it detected missing (including a hot key driver and a later BIOS) and the fn key started working.

We also have this problem and havent gotten a solution from HP. But there is a workaround you can use to get it working.

Simply change the keyboard driver to "Standard PS/2 keyboard" and the FN-keys will magically start working 🙂

Thanks Andreas! Great magic.

Hello,

A better solution is to install .NET 3.5  as described here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/dotnet-35-windows-10

then install the Windows 7 x64 hot keys driver for your model

reboot, enjoy 🙂

These links are now dead. I'm also having this problem, so could you please update them???
