Hi @behzadsajadian,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that your OMEN 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 with Windows 11 has been experiencing repeated screen crashes, and given the investment you’ve made in this laptop, I know how concerning this must be. Let’s go through some steps to help resolve the issue:

Update Graphics Drivers

Go to Device Manager → Display Adapters.

Right-click your GPU (NVIDIA/AMD) and select Update driver.

Alternatively, download the latest driver directly from NVIDIA or AMD.

Install HP Updates

Open HP Support Assistant and check for any system updates (BIOS, chipset, or display drivers).

Install all recommended updates and restart your laptop.

Check Windows Updates

Go to Settings → Windows Update and install all pending updates.

Also check under Advanced Options → Optional updates for driver updates.

Run Hardware Diagnostics

Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.

Run a System Test → Extensive Test to check the display, memory, and graphics hardware.

Adjust Power & Graphics Settings

In NVIDIA Control Panel/AMD Radeon Settings, set your GPU to High Performance mode.

In Windows Settings → System → Display → Graphics, assign apps like games or creative software to run on the dedicated GPU.

Check for Overheating

Ensure proper ventilation and clean any dust from vents.

If the laptop feels very hot when the screen crashes, overheating may be a cause, consider using a cooling pad.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

Thank you for your previous response and for providing the troubleshooting steps regarding the repeated screen crashes on my HP Omen 16 (16-c0000) running Windows 10 and 11.

I have carefully followed all the recommended steps, including:

  • Updating NVIDIA/AMD graphics drivers from the official website

  • Installing all HP Support Assistant updates (BIOS, chipset, display drivers)

  • Installing all Windows and optional driver updates

  • Running the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (Extensive Test) with no reported hardware errors

  • Adjusting power and graphics settings for high performance

  • Monitoring system temperature and ensuring proper ventilation

Unfortunately, despite completing all these steps, the screen crash issue still persists.

How can I disable integrated graphics via BIOS?
This option is not available on systems with an AMD chip.

I would appreciate any additional guidance to fully resolve this issue.

Thank you for your time and support.

Best regards,Behzad Sajadian

Hi @behzadsajadian,

Thank you for getting back to us and for following all the troubleshooting steps so thoroughly. I understand how frustrating it must be to still experience screen crashes on your OMEN 16 after all that effort, and I truly appreciate your patience while we work through this together.

You are correct that on AMD-based systems, the option to manually disable the integrated graphics in BIOS is typically not available. Instead, Windows and the system firmware automatically manage switching between the integrated GPU and the dedicated GPU.

Here are a few additional steps we can try:

1. Force Applications to Use Dedicated GPU

Open Windows Settings → System → Display → Graphics.

Select the app (for example, games or heavy software), click Options, and choose High Performance (dedicated GPU).

2. Clean Installation of Graphics Drivers

Uninstall both AMD and NVIDIA drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode.

Then reinstall the latest drivers directly from AMD and NVIDIA. This helps resolve conflicts between integrated and dedicated GPU drivers.

3. Check Event Viewer Logs

Press Win + X → Event Viewer → Windows Logs → System/Application.

Look for any “Display driver stopped responding” or critical errors at the time of the crash. This will help identify if the issue is driver-related or OS-level.

4. BIOS/UEFI Reset

Restart your laptop and enter BIOS by pressing Esc → F10.

Choose Restore Defaults → Save & Exit. Sometimes, incorrect settings can affect GPU switching.

5. HP Cloud Recovery (if issue persists)

If crashes continue even after clean driver installation, I recommend backing up your data and performing a fresh OS installation using HP Cloud Recovery Tool. This ensures the system is reset with factory drivers and firmware.

I hope this helps.
