Hello!
When I leave the laptop for a little while and come back, it would have gone into sleep mode, but I can still hear the fan and laptop itself still running and the screen is black. I cannot wake up the screen by touching the keyboard, moving the touchpad, nor pressing the power button. I need to long-press the power button to turn it off and back on.
I have already checked if there are new updates from Windows but everything is up to date, and the drivers seem to work fine. I have no idea what it could be..
Please I would appreciate any and all help.
Thank you.

Hi @A4Apollo! Thanks for all the suggestions. I will try to answer all your questions as accurately as I can.
My laptop (product nr 4RE73EA#UUW) does not have a removable battery, and it seems that this issue occurs regardless of whether the AC adapter is used or not; also no blinking lights on the caps lock nor num lock. I did phone up the HP support and they were very patient with me, and they performed several updates (incuding to BIOS) and checks on the laptop (by remote access), but they could not manage to find the source nor the solution for this problem.
When i checked for available-drivers updates it was telling me they are all up to date already. I also tried several troubleshoots for various components, but despite fixing some issues it did not fix the main problem. I have updated everything possible using the HP support assistant as well.
I'd be happy to provide any other vital info if needed. Thank you.

Hello again @A4Apollo. Thank you for the help, but I should mention that there's no Hibernate option in any of the places that you mentioned in the various steps in your previous message.( I also don't have a Sleep Button) I have done all the steps you mentioned previously though, and I was wondering if it's suspicious that there's no Hibernate option. If so, what should I do to "get it back", as it were?
Thank you!

Thanks for the update.
Try the steps recommended below to enable hibernate options on the PC.
- Open Control Panel and navigate to Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
- Click Choose what the power buttons do.
- Next click the Change Settings that are currently unavailable link. This will allow you to change shutdown options.
- Check the Hibernate (Show in Power menu).
- Click on Save changes and that’s it.
Hope this helps!
