15s-fq1001nb
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi there,

I have an HP laptop 15s-fq1001nb, and the screen is flickering when I move the cursor (being a mouse or the trackpad), which makes the computer unusable. The screen is perfectly stable when the mous is not moving, or when I close / open the screen (so not an hardware issue). From my experience, this is a driver / SW issue ... and I found an the internet some stuff bout the hibernation parameters which I followed, but this is not solving the issue.

Can someone from HP please help in here ?

P.S. I have already followed all the procedures by upgrading the BIOS and even re-installing windows from scratch, but after a while, the issue comes again (probably some windows update ...)

It also look like a ot of people are ompacted by this issue

Many thanks !

Hi @Delecole,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the screen flickering.

Have you made any changes to your PC software or hardware or OS recently?

Does the issue persist in BIOS?

As you mentioned when you power on your laptop the screen keeps flickering on your laptop.

If the issue does not persist in BIOS try updating the graphics driver and BIOS on your PC.

Try performing a BIOS default on your PC and check if it helps.

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes.
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Also, Uninstall the graphics driver from the device manager and install the latest drivers and BIOS if done already, you may ignore them.

You may refer to this document for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

I have updated to latest BIOS version AMI F.36, 19-08-24 and monitoring if it solves the issue.

As I said over private message, it is a pitty that HP support web site is not presenting the drivers and listing windows 11 as operating system ... why ?
