Hello,

I've been having problems with screen flickering for a few days. I did try some recommended fixes on the internet, reinstalling, updating display driver, updating BIOS, but nothing really fixed the problem. I can say updating display driver and BIOS really did help, in terms of number of flickers, but they do still exist, and from what i can tell they appear totally random. I will be sending pictures of these flickers. Turning off display driver, in device manager, didnt seem to improve situation, so im skeptical if it is hardware issue, although i did perform test in hardware diagnostics, and passed them. I look forward to your reply.

Hello,

It was "HP Pavilion x360 Convertible PC 14-dy1000", thought i selected that somewhere. I did try solution someone mentioned at https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Laptop-screen-Flickers/m-p/9377067 , and i can it did help. I tried that, after my post here, and since than i have no more problems with screen, so i think that is the solution i was looking for.

Yeah, the problem is not fixed, it came back today, flickering again even more than before.

Hi @jovannn.,

Thank you for the response.

Try these steps:

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Make sure you are using the latest graphics drivers from the HP website or directly from the graphics card manufacturer.

Check and Adjust Display Settings:

  • Go to "Display Settings" and ensure the refresh rate is set correctly.
  • Sometimes flickering is caused by incorrect refresh rates.

Run HP Support Assistant:

  • Use the HP Support Assistant to check for any updates or diagnostics that might resolve underlying issues.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that your Windows operating system is fully updated as new updates might contain fixes for stability or compatibility issues that can influence display performance.

Disable Hardware Acceleration:

  • Try disabling hardware acceleration for your browser or other applications that might be using GPU processing.
  • In browsers, this is usually found under settings or advanced settings.

Perform System Diagnostics:

  • Use the built-in diagnostics through HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows to run a complete system test to check for hardware issues.

I hope this helps.
