I bought a laptop (pavillion 15-cs2600nz) about 3-4 weeks ago.

 

The laptop screen is randomly going blank with its back-light on (can see the light bleeding from the edges, when PC goes to sleep the screen goes off, no backlight on). Also, the PC is live, if I were doing anything like watching a video or typing, it still works in the background (i can hear the video for instance).

 

To recover from this state, i press the power button to send the computer to sleep, i press the power button to recall it from sleep and the screen is the back to normal. This happens both on battery or AC power.

 

I already updated all the drivers and BIOS available on the support website without fixing the problem.

Try this and see if it works:

(1) Set "Turn off Screen" to NEVER

(2) Set "Computer to Sleep" to NEVER

I said the screen is not going to sleep and the computer is not going to sleep either when this happens.

I tried to disable the sleep settings and also the advanced power savings options from the intel graphics panel with no success.
